One of our favorite unofficial holidays is approaching on March 24 and that is National Cocktail Day. Created in 2014 by writer and editor, Jace Shoemaker-Galloway, the day is meant to celebrate cocktails in all ways imaginable. Whether that be experimenting with your own concoctions or following our recipes, there are so many ways to celebrate. Here are just some of our favorites:
● Recipes, recipes, recipes! Here at Just Beet It, we are all about stepping out of our comfort zone, and our beet cocktails in this post are the perfect place to start experimenting with some tasty concoctions.
● Learn more about the history of cocktails, tools to use, home bartending, and more. Knowledge is power when it comes to creating great drinks, so doing your research in order to sharpen your skill is key!
● Stay indoors and have a lazy day. Thankfully nowadays, an online liquor store provides the luxury of getting your alcohol essentials delivered straight to your couch. All while you sit back and relax, watch movies, or hang out with friends and family.
Without further ado, let’s get into it! Here are our seven favorite beet cocktails to get you prepared for National Cocktail Day.

BEETA-RITA: BEET, MEZCAL, AND JALAPEÑO MARGARITA
With the warmer months approaching soon, it may be time to think more summer-y with your beet cocktail selection! For all our margarita lovers out there, we think our rendition of a beet margarita is a smokin’ alternative that can spice up any occasion (literally!). Made by using mezcal (tequila’s sibling) as the core alcoholic building block, throwing in beet simple syrup alongside jalapeño slices can give you that spicy and eye-opening refreshing margarita vibe you’re after!
BONUS BEET “COCKTAIL”: Beetroot Wine
“Technically” this isn’t a cocktail, but for a fancier occasion, consider making this beet-based wine from Home Brew Answers! For homebrewers, this can be a little more challenging as you’ll need certain equipment to get the job done, but the results are definitely worth it. The fun part of beetroot wine is the variation! Different size beetroots can make for different flavors, so each time you make it, it will taste uniquely different! GET THE RECIPE.
